The Plan

What the plan - asked A.
Oh ..Plan... Yes , lets plan to make a plan. - Mumbled B.

If the above would be a discussion, I would definitely be B.
I have been, for most parts of my life , a non-planner.With financial matters as the only exception, which i plan to the T, i am a " take each day at a time" kind of a person. And that attitude was serving me fine for smaller questions in life. Yes, smaller questions for us such as

Where to do +2 from
Where to do graduation from
Whom to get married to ( This god planned for me in the most amazing way :))
When to get married
Which firm to join after graduation
Which city to live in
Where to do MBA from
Which firm to join after MBA
When to buy the first House

You see, these so called big decisions actually did not get much planning from us. We just went with the flow and gut feeling ( and just one priority of being near/together with each other). I have always believed that you can not plan most of the things. So its not worth spending so much time and energy planning and then to see the plan go haywire by the bigger planner called life. Also we did pretty okay with all the above big crossroads of life without the big plans and blueprints.

But this was different. We did not know the magnitude of this change , but at least we were aware that this is bigger than anything else we did earlier. So , even a non planner like me changed colors.

We started to think about extending the family sometime in the beginning of 2016 when i received a job offer in Dubai. The thought was that we will couple that change of job and location with this. I eventually declined the offer ( again for the one priority stated above :) ) but the thought remained with us.  I think we were ready - at least we were not " not ready"

Yes , we were not " Not - Ready" for the baby.

1. We had thought about it and it did not scare us that much
2. We had discussed about it and we both definitely wanted a baby, sometime
3. We were good with kids, and liked hanging out with them
4. We did a fair bit of adventures and travels in our 11 years together
5. The biological clock was ticking

And i think thats the closest a non planner gets to planning. The biggest plan in life. Of being a parent. Of  putting our hearts out in the open to play. When i look back at it today, i feel blessed and proud that we took the plunge, for Dhaani has filled that void in our life which we never knew we had :) She has brought out the emotions which we didn't  know existed within us. And that she has become " The Plan" of our lives.
